| The Draft League is for youth players on the Westside of El Paso that go through the League draft to be placed on a team. If a player is not part of a club team then they will play in this division. The emphasis is for the players to enjoy a recreational baseball no matter what the skill level and through proper guidance and exemplary leadership, will assist our youth in developing the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well-being. By espousing the virtues of character, courage and loyalty, this division is designed to develop superior citizens rather than superior athletes. Each child is evaluated in a one-day skills assessment program and drafted by a coach to be placed on his/her team. Each coach is assigned equipment and uniforms are provided by the league. |
The National League is for all youth players in the borderland area that are part of a team but may not be on the same skill level as the American League. If teams do not have a full roster to field players, this will be the division that they will play in. If a player is not a part of a team, they will play in the Draft Division or be requested to join the National League by a coach. This division follows MLB rules where lead-offs and stolen bases are learned. There are no restrictions as to where you live in this division and each team is responsible for the players uniforms and equipment. National League teams will play with American League teams during the season and be seeded according to their season record in tournaments. |
The American League is for youth players that are part of individual club teams and are committed to playing a more advanced style of baseball. If your player is part of an exisiting team and has been invited to play for them, this is the division where you will play. The rules are more advanced as well as this division follows the Major League Baseball Rule Book where players can lead off bases and pick offs are allowed. There are no restrictions as to where you live in this division and each team is responsible for the players uniforms and equipment. This division is affiliated with USTBA and teams have a chance to participate in USTBA World Series in San Diego, CA. Rosters are limited to 18 players and are locked once the season starts. |

How long has it been since El Paso has hosted the 12 year old tournament? Almost never as far as I can remember. We always have to travel to THEIR places. Who cares about Little League any more where there are so many better affiliations these days.
